Cops and neighbours were horrified when they found four babies frozen solid in a house in Mthatha's New Brighton neighbourhood in South Africa. The house belongs to an elderly woman said to be living in Southernwood.

Her daughter, said to be 32 years old, lived in the house with her three small kids and her boyfriend, who she went to bury in Johannesburg. The boyfriend died recently and it's said he was suffering from diabetes. The woman allegedly warned the neighbour not to open the freezer under any circumstances.
"The neighbour kept on cleaning, but because of the constant load shedding there was a smell coming out of the freezer," said the source.
"On Saturday morning, the neighbour decided to open the freezer to see what was causing the smell. "She saw strange-looking dark plastic bags hidden at the bottom of the fridge under the vegetables and meat. When she opened one bag, she saw a baby's body. "She ran out and called her relatives, who found two more dead babies in the freezer."
The source said neighbours weren't sure at first whether to call the homeowner or the cops. Eventually they called the cops, who found a fourth dead baby in the fridge. Lieutenant-Colonel Mzukisi Fatyela said that the bodies were taken to the state mortuary for post mortems.
"This is shocking to us," said Fatyela."You cannot keep bodies of humans in a fridge. "There is something wrong taking place here. "That is what we are investigating – to find out the motive behind all this."Fatyela said the babies were aged between one to three months, but their genders weren't clear."A post mortem will identify the cause of death."An inquest docket has been opened at Ngangelizwe Police Station.
"No arrests were made, but police are still investigating." Now a foetus has been found in the house.
A post mortem revealed that two of the babies were boys and two were girls. In the freezer in the dining room, the outline of a baby's body showed the spot from which cops had removed the little corpses. A tenant said a former domestic worker at the main house once told her about dead babies.
